At the AAMI annual meeting June 1-3, GE Healthcare demonstrated a new application of its predictive analytics OnWatch technology. The new system allows biomedical staff to continuously monitor medical equipment and receive alerts whenever an outage, device malfunction, or intrusion occurs in a clinical network. According to GE, by using this web application-based system, in-house teams can identify and resolve service issues before they lead to crises and minimize unplanned downtime and the need for urgent maintenance events. Features of the new system include identification of technical abnormalities for benchmarked devices, reporting of service history for each device, and remote monitoring of network devices from any location with an IP connection.
