To address the issues raised by the AAMI/FDA/ECRI Alarms Summit in 2011 and the recent Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal on Alarm Safety for hospitals, the Clinical Alarm Safety Symposium will explore alarm safety challenges, best practices and technological solutions.

The target audience for the event includes hospital executives and clinicians;  patient safety, quality and risk management staff; nurse executives; managers and clinicians, biomedical and clinical engineers,  and IT staff. Interested parties from IT companies, medical device manufacturers, consulting firms, and government agencies will also be in attendance.

The symposium will begin the day after a training program hosted by AAMI, “Risk Management and Human Factors: Designing Better Alarm Signals,” is held at the same location. Registration and payment for the two events are separate.
