Seaward Group USA is saddened to announce the death of its former colleague, Jack Barrett. He was 68. A well-known member of the healthcare technology management (HTM) community, Barrett joined the company as business development manager before becoming vice president based in the office in Tampa, Fla.

Seaward Group officials say Barrett’s dedication, hard work, and expertise saw him contribute significantly to developing the business in the United States, increasing revenues, winning new customers, and securing success right across the country until his retirement in late 2019.

“He was a real character, who made many friends over the years as he immersed himself in his work; he had a strong work ethic,” says Michael Walton, category manager of Rigel Medical. “Jack, who lived life to the full, was well-loved and will be fondly remembered by his many friends, colleagues, and customers who worked with and knew him over the years.”

Walton adds, “It is due to his commitment, vision, hard work, and diligence that Seaward USA is where it is today—successful, growing, and leading the field in U.S. biomedical engineering, renewable energy, and health and safety testing and measurement.”

Barrett, who died unexpectedly on June 2, was an avid collector of fine wine and loved fishing and classic cars. He is survived by his wife, Maryann, as well as his son, daughter, and four grandchildren.
