Somatex Medical Technologies GmbH has inked a distribution partnership agreement with Hologic Inc., effective immediately. Under the agreement, Hologic will add select Somatex Tumark biopsy site markers to its portfolio of breast cancer screening and interventional products.

The agreement includes exclusive distribution rights for the Tumark Professional X, Q, Vision, and Flex markers and application devices for the United States. The markers are made of a non-resorbing nitinol material that expands into a distinct marker shape upon deployment into the breast, and are visible in such imaging modalities as ultrasound, mammography, and MRI.
