The eight-year agreement aims to improve patient access and clinical productivity with advanced, multi-modality imaging equipment.
The Queen’s Health Systems in Hawaii and Siemens Healthineers have entered into an eight-year partnership to expand and upgrade the health system’s diagnostic imaging offerings. The agreement is intended to improve patient access to urgent and routine services across the state.
The partnership includes the adoption of advanced, AI-enabled imaging systems across multiple modalities, including magnetic resonance, computed tomography, positron emission tomography, single-photon emission computed tomography, and X-ray. According to the announcement, the new equipment is intended to help the health system mitigate the effects of nationwide radiology staffing shortages by enabling faster scans and more efficient post-scan image reviews.
By improving operational efficiency, Queen’s, which operates six hospitals, aims to keep more patients within its network for imaging services, enhancing their continuity of care.
“We are pleased to partner with Siemens Healthineers with the goal of optimizing care for our patients utilizing advanced imaging solutions,” says Darlena Chadwick, executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Queen’s Health Systems, in a release. “We are always looking for innovative ways of providing care, and this partnership helps us continue investing in leading-edge resources for our patients.”
Technology to Support Statewide Network
The new equipment and technology will be deployed to support the health system’s network, which includes more than 9,500 employees and 1,800 affiliated physicians and providers.
“We are proud to partner with The Queen’s Health Systems in delivering advanced technologies as they navigate the challenges of operating a major health care system across the Hawaiian Islands,” says John Kowal, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers, in a release. “Their investment in new imaging equipment reflects a strong commitment to elevating patient care and delivering high-quality service.”
