AAMI has partnered with Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) on a new Web video promoting healthcare technology management as a potential career for millennials. The video, available on YouTube and produced by IUPUI alumnus Aaron Turner, features students from the school’s Healthcare Engineering Technology Management department as they handle equipment at Eskenazi Health, a new public hospital in Indianapolis.

“The video is brief, sleek, and of very high quality,” says Patrick Bernat, AAMI’s director of healthcare technology management. “It really hits the mark.”

Another AAMI video produced last year featuring Karen Waninger and Barrett Franklin provided more in-depth information about the HTM field. This latest video simply highlights the field’s job security, growth potential, and opportunity to “make a meaningful difference” before directing viewers to AAMI’s promotional website for HTM newcomers, www.IamHTM.com.

Barbara Christe, IUPUI associate professor and program director for the department, says the response so far has been positive. “The video is really resonating with the 18 year-olds that we hope to convince to be potential students.”
