Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corp, Vernon Hills, Ill, has partnered with a humanitarian team of top ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctors to donate endoscopic equipment to Hospital Escuela in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa.

The 1,800-bed hospital is home to the only ENT residency program in Honduras. A Richard Wolf sales representative in Ohio learned of the mission from Christopher Perry, MD, co-founder of the Toledo Clinic ENT Sinus Center of Excellence. Perry has led many short-term missions to Honduras to train doctors in ENT surgical techniques. In October, Perry and a team of surgeons served as interim faculty to ENT residents at Hospital Escuela for one week. Wolf donated about $10,000 in equipment. Perry bought additional instrumentation to donate at a discount.
