“S3 Challenge 2014,” a new conference jointly organized by FDA and AAMI, will address ways to improve the safety of healthcare technology while reducing the time required to bring new medical devices to market.
S3 Challenge 2014 will focus on three broad issues that affect medtech safety: biocompatibility, sterility, and risk management. In addition, participants will explore how the combination of these three factors can apply to a specific class of device.
Participants will include industry professionals and FDA staff, who will work together to analyze key factors in these three issues and recommend actions to take. AAMI and the FDA will release a summary report following the conclusion of the conference.
S3 Challenge 2014 is scheduled for March 11–12 at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, Va. For more information, visit the AAMI website.
