As of Dec 31, 2015, the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) Standards and Guidelines for Adult Echocardiography Accreditation now require hospitals to clean and perform an electrical leakage test on all TEE transducers between each procedure and to document the results.
To aid in compliance, BC Biomedical offers its ULT-2000 series for electrical leakage testing. The ULT-2010 and ULT-2020 each measure the conductivity of the cleaning medium and the leakage current of the ultrasound transducer. Users can perform either a quantitative test or a pass/fail test. The ULT-2020 can accommodate data logging for up to 99 test records and offers a meter mode. An optional printer is available to document each test.
