The zero-footprint diagnostic viewer is designed to give radiologists browser-based access to imaging studies and visualization tools within the Genesis Radiology Workspace.

GE HealthCare announced that its diagnostic imaging viewer, View, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The viewer is part of the company’s Genesis Radiology Workspace platform.

The company describes View as a zero-footprint diagnostic viewer designed to allow radiologists to access imaging studies through a browser-based interface without requiring local software installation. It serves as a core component of the Genesis Radiology Workspace, which is intended to support radiology workflows and image analysis.

According to GE HealthCare, radiologists may spend significant time on non-interpretive tasks such as navigating software interfaces or waiting for images to load, which can affect productivity and turnaround times. The company says the viewer is designed to reduce some of those workflow steps and provide access to imaging tools through a cloud-based platform.

“View is designed to meet radiologists wherever they are—providing secure, high-performance access to diagnostic imaging through a truly cloud-native experience,” says Scott Miller, CEO of Solutions for Enterprise Imaging, GE HealthCare, in a release. “By removing traditional infrastructure barriers, we’re enabling faster collaboration, greater flexibility, and more streamlined workflows across care teams. View within the Genesis Workspace reflects our commitment to modernizing radiology in ways that support clinicians and, ultimately, improve patient care.”

The viewer includes 2D and 3D visualization tools as well as AI-enabled features intended to assist with image review and clinical decision-making. It also provides access to GE HealthCare’s advanced visualization applications within the Genesis workspace.

“This next-generation viewer will set a new standard—and could offer the ability to complete almost all of a radiologists’ work in a single, streamlined workspace so they can focus on patient care,” says Dr Laurie Sebastiano, a compensated member of GE HealthCare’s advisory board.

GE HealthCare says the viewer may not be available in all regions.
