Registration is open now for the six-part training series that aims to strengthen leadership skills among current and aspiring HTM professionals.

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) has partnered with the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) to launch a new certificate program aimed at developing leadership skills among healthcare technology management (HTM) professionals.

The Certificate of Leadership Excellence in HTM is a six-part, 24-hour training series within CBET covering topics such as data-driven decision-making, capital equipment negotiations, communication, change management, and ethics. The program is open to current and aspiring HTM leaders and provides participants with business-focused skills relevant to management roles in the field.

Monty Gonzales, EdD, president of CBET, says in a recent AAMI webinar that the course content was shaped by input from focus groups with healthcare organizations and HTM leaders across the country. “The most interesting aspect of this course is that the topics have been derived from conversations and focus groups with a dozen or more industry leaders and health care organizations nationally,” Gonzales says in the webinar.

The series includes live, instructor-led webinars held on the first and second Tuesday of each month from Aug 5, 2025, through Feb 10, 2026. Each session runs from 7 to 9 pm ET. There is an on-demand option available.

Instructors include industry professionals such as Chris Langmeyer, CBET, CHTM, of PartsSource; John Schmidt and Ryan Gonzalez of CBET; and Anna Baldwin, senior leadership development consultant. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and a digital badge for use on professional platforms such as LinkedIn.

Cost is $1,099 for AAMI members and $1,365 for non-members. Registration is open now.
