A new electrical safety analyzer from Datrend Systems Inc, Richmond, BC, uses a 10-inch Android tablet as its user interface, taking advantage of the many features offered by the tablet technology. Benefits of the vPad analyzer include a high-resolution graphical user interface, large fonts for easy reading of test results, icon-based test functions, on-line test procedure display capability, and touch screen interface with optional keypad or mouse. The basic manual safety analyzer is provided in two versions: vPad-ES for the AAMI/IEC60601 standard; and vPad-353 for the IEC 62353 standard.
