The system integrates updated imaging hardware, AI-driven tools, and independently validated ergonomic features aimed at supporting diagnostic accuracy and user comfort.
Samsung Medison, a medical equipment company and affiliate of Samsung Electronics, is set to unveil its new R20 ultrasound system at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago. The system features updated hardware, new image-formation technology, and several AI-driven tools aimed at improving diagnostic precision.
The R20 is built on Samsung’s Advanced Imaging Engine, which combines updated hardware with software-based beamforming to support improved image clarity and diagnostic performance. The system includes more than a dozen AI tools designed for real-time exam guidance, diagnostic support, workflow automation, and automated measurements.
In addition to its clinical features, the R20 received independent ergonomic validation, meeting all recognized ergonomic guidelines and recommendations to promote clinician comfort and healthy scanning, according to a release from the comapny.
“The R20 embodies our mission to elevate diagnostic imaging through purposeful innovation,” says Tracy Bury, chief commercial officer of Samsung Healthcare in the USA and vice president of global growth initiatives. “Driven by close collaboration with clinicians, the R20’s technologies are designed as practical tools that make a real difference in how clinicians work and patients are cared for. With the R20, we’re moving from a fast follower to a true technology leader, driving innovation at a pace that’s reshaping ultrasound.”
The Samsung R20 will be unveiled in the United States on Nov 30 at RSNA.
