More than 8,500 people recently received free health care offered by Your Best Pathway to Health, a three-day megaclinic in Los Angeles—and the use of Konica Minolta Medical Imaging’s SonImage HS1 ultrasound and AeroDR wireless digital flat-panel detector played a critical role in providing diagnostic exams for more than 6,500 of those patients.
“The reliability, performance, and image quality of the SonImage HS1 systems from Konica Minolta was impressive,” says Melody Pierson, assistant imaging director at Pathway to Health. “We utilized these systems for a variety of exams, including abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, breast, vascular, and musculoskeletal.”
Impressed by the laptop-sized SonImage HS1, Randy Bivens, MD, imaging director of Pathway to Health, expressed gratitude for the modality’s high-quality images. “We are just so pleased that Konica Minolta has stepped forward and allowed us to use their equipment to provide this free health care service to the community,” he says.
Konica Minolta, in conjunction with Radiographic Equipment Services, Inc., an authorized dealer for Shimadzu, also provided a Shimadzu MobileArt Evolution EFX portable x-ray unit with a Konica Minolta AeroDR wireless digital flat-panel detector. This system—one of two mobile digital radiography (DR) systems available at the clinic—performed hundreds of DR exams over the course of the three-day event.
