Carestream announced that it is now accepting orders across the globe for its OnSight 3D extremity system, with plans to begin shipping out the system to customers in December. The OnSight 3D extremity system will also be on display at the annual Radiological Society of North America conference, which runs from November 27 to December 2 in Chicago.
Providers can secure weight-bearing and other types of extremity exams with Carestream’s new platform. With access to its high-quality 3D images, clinicians can conduct a patient consult in a single visit. Further, patients can view the resulting 3D images, which means greater understanding of their condition or injury. This is particularly helpful should a surgical procedure or other treatment be required.
With its cone-beam CT technology, clinicians can capture weight-bearing and other types of extremity exams. A compact system, Onsight 3D delivers high-quality, lower-dose 3D imaging studies. With access to this innovation, orthopedic and sports medicine practices, hospitals, imaging centers, urgent care facilities, and other providers have access to a powerful diagnostic tool, according to Helen Titus, Caresteam’s worldwide marketing director for ultrasound and CT solutions.
“Orthopedic imaging is a major focus for Carestream because of the prevalence of musculoskeletal conditions among people of all ages,” says Titus. “Youth and adults often suffer sports-related injuries to their knees, ankles, and feet while older adults experience arthritis, joint instability, meniscus loss, and other conditions.”
This system is not available for commercial sale in Canada, however.
