CareView Communications has announced the introduction of its new CareView Connect Patient Monitoring and Communications module. The module allows hospital staff to view, communicate with, and manage patients in real time from an integrated handheld mobile device. A mobile monitoring application allows nursing staff to access the tools provided on the system to monitor their patients and respond to alarms and alerts for specific patient care to increase patient safety and decrease falls. CareView reports that beta testing of the fall management program in hospitals showed a greater reduction in patient falls when compared to using it without the mobile application.

CareView Connect also allows for secure voice, text and email communications with staff located anywhere in the hospital. Through integration with the hospital’s phone system, users can also place calls to the patient’s physician or other caregivers, speeding up the delivery of care and improving quality. CareView Connect became available to all CareView customers on February 1, 2014.
