The annual conference and exhibition of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) will take place April 12–16 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The event will feature a variety of education programs, including keynotes, seminars, roundtable discussions and e-sessions, as well as preconference workshops and symposia. According to HIMSS, last year’s event in Orlando, Fla, drew nearly 38,000 attendees.
The exhibit hall, open April 13–15, will house more than 1200 IT vendors. New features of the event this year include HX360, an initiative co-developed by HIMSS and AVIA to encourage health systems to adopt next-generation technologies; the Health IT Value Suite, where “patient and healthcare provider success stories” will highlight the benefits of health IT; and the Cybersecurity Command Center, where industry and government experts will address key issues in healthcare cybersecurity.
