The new entity combines capabilities in system design, microelectronics, precision molding, and advanced manufacturing for medical device OEMs.

Intricon and Minnetronix Medical, two contract development and manufacturing organizations serving the medical technology industry, have combined to form a new company, Forj Medical.

Headquartered in Arden Hills, Minn, the new company aims to provide end-to-end services for medical device original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), helping them develop and scale complex technologies. Forj Medical will operate across six facilities in the US, Indonesia, Singapore, and Costa Rica, focusing on market segments such as diabetes, advanced optics, surgical energy, drug delivery, and surgical navigation.

Mauricio Arellano, an executive with more than 30 years of experience in the medical device supply chain, has been appointed executive chair of Forj Medical. Jeremy Maniak, formerly CEO of Minnetronix, will serve as CEO of the combined business.

“Forj Medical is uniquely equipped to meet the evolving needs of medical device OEMs,” says Maniak in a release. “By combining deep expertise in system and component design, microelectronics, precision molding, and automation, we’re enabling our customers to bring life-changing technologies to market faster and more efficiently.”

The company’s service offering integrates system design, microelectronics, precision molding, and advanced manufacturing to support device development from concept through commercial scale.

“Two leaders in medical device innovation have come together to create something extraordinary for customers,” says Arellano in a release. “With a shared commitment to quality and innovation, Forj Medical is well-positioned to support our customers and accelerate breakthroughs in patient care.”
