A 1-day educational and networking event based on the IHE North American (NA) Connectathon will be held in Chicago on January 29, 2014. The theme of the educational sessions at the Connectathon Conference will be the importance of moving beyond the first steps of electronic health records (EHRs) and meaningful use criteria to a “focus on optimizing additional functionality in the use of data exchange and interoperable systems.”
Topics will include strategies and principles to accelerate HIE and interoperability, connecting across the continuum of care, the value of universal operability, and an overview of the IHE North American Connectathon.
