The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Foundation has announced a new college scholarship sponsored by Beacon Partners.

Dedicated to inspiring charitable giving and education within the health care industry, the HIMSS Foundation has designed the scholarship for students in health care information management systems programs.

Beacon Partners, with a presence in both the United States and Canada, operates in the IT, clinical, strategic, and operations consulting areas within the health care industry.

The Beacon Partners Scholarship will be awarded during the 2008 academic year to a full-time student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, masters or PhD program related to the health care information management systems field. The student will receive a $7,000 cash scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to the Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition. The recipient will also be honored at the 2008 HIMSS Awards and Recognition Banquet during the conference in Orlando, Fla, February 24 through 28.
