Accent on Integration (AOI), a provider of integration software and medical device connectivity solutions, announces its agreement with Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Valencia, Calif. The hospital will leverage AOI’s Accelero Connect health care integration platform to automate how vital signs data is captured and recorded.

With Accelero Connect—a vendor-agnostic, software-based solution that does not require the purchase of additional hardware—the hospital can integrate its Philips IntelliVue patient monitors with its MEDITECH HIS and MEDITECH emergency department management (EDM) solution, which will help streamline clinician workflow and reduce the risk of possible documentation errors.

Henry Mayo purchased an enterprise licensing agreement from AOI to integrate devices with clinical systems in its ICU and emergency department (ED), as well as in several other departments in the future. In addition, Henry Mayo will utilize AOI’s ADT interface, which will apply multiple patient-matching strategies to ensure accuracy and create more complete longitudinal records.

“Currently, nurses write down vital signs data then manually enter it into our information systems, which duplicates processes and can delay the availability of patient information,” said Cindy Peterson, VP and CIO at Henry Mayo. With Accelero Connect, patient data will flow into our HIS and EDM solution in real time, giving ICU and ED nurses more time to spend caring for patients instead of handling data capture and data entry.”
