The expanded agreement will embed Masimo’s pulse oximetry and sensor technologies into Philips’ patient monitoring platforms to streamline clinical workflows and improve interoperability.

Royal Philips and Masimo have announced a renewed multi-year strategic collaboration to integrate Masimo’s measurement technologies into Philips’ patient monitoring systems. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of next-generation monitoring solutions and provide clinicians with more unified and interoperable tools.

Under the expanded agreement, Masimo’s technologies, including SET pulse oximetry, Radius PPG, and other sensor technologies, will be integrated into Philips’ multi-parameter patient monitoring platforms. This integration will span bedside monitors, central stations, and wearable solutions, allowing healthcare facilities to use their preferred measurement technologies within a single system. According to the companies, the collaboration is intended to reduce system complexity and support more timely clinical decision-making.

“Our priority is helping clinicians deliver the best possible care to their patients, and that means staying ahead of the curve,” says Julia Strandberg, Executive Vice President and Business Leader Connected Care at Royal Philips, in a release. “This partnership allows us to respond quickly to evolving clinical needs and market trends, integrating proven technologies into solutions that are easy to use, reliable, and scalable.”

Focus on Future Development

Beyond the current integration efforts, Philips and Masimo plan to co-develop and co-promote new monitoring solutions designed to meet emerging clinical demands, such as the need for greater patient mobility. These initiatives will focus on connected care and incorporating technologies like AI algorithms to enhance patient care. The partnership aligns with Philips’ strategy to work with industry partners to improve operational efficiency and support vendor-neutral interoperability in healthcare environments.

“We are excited to continue to partner with Philips to bring Masimo’s newest innovations in wearables and artificial intelligence to Philips’ platforms,” says Katie Szyman, CEO of Masimo, in a release. “Expanding our strong, long-standing partnership with Philips allows us to build on our shared legacies of innovation and helps ensure that Masimo’s best-in-class technologies reach even more patients.”
