In the seventh and final installment of a series of webcasts on alarm management from the Healthcare Technology Safety Institute, the topic will be the importance of educating and training staff on alarm systems management. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, at 1:00 pm.

Entitled “Educating and Training Your Staff: Circling Back to Your Policies and Procedures,” the 1-hour webcast will address address ways to set up and maintain a complete database of alarmed equipment and will review all aspects of the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal on alarm management covered during the webinar series.

Speakers at the final session include Thomas Bauld, Biomedical Engineer, Department of Veterans Affairs National Center for Patient Safety (invited); Maria Cvach, Assistant Director of Nursing, Johns Hopkins Hospital; and Jim Piepenbrink, Director, Department of Clinical Engineering, Boston Medical Center. The webinar will be moderated by Marjorie Funk, Professor, Yale University School of Nursing.
