AAMI University has announced that it is hosting a webinar, “RTLS: Tracking Assets and Beyond,” that will illustrate the strategic role healthcare technology management (HTM) professionals have in evaluating, selecting, implementing, and maintaining real-time location systems (RTLS). The webinar will be held December 8, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM (EST).

A new market report from Frost & Sullivan discussing RTLS technology has noted that historically, RTLS was used to track assets. Today, the healthcare industry is leveraging RTLS technology to “do more with less,” while meeting regulatory requirements around safety and patient satisfaction at the same time. More departments and stakeholders are reportedly looking to HTM professionals to provide information and insights about RTLS technologies.

The “RTLS: Tracking Assets and Beyond” webinar is intended to help HTM professionals learn more about RTLS technologies and equip attendees to become RTLS champions within their organizations. The session will be led by Alan Tangen, director of business development and technical sales at Sonitor Technologies in Stamford, Conn; and Alan Moretti, vice president of healthcare technology management at Renovo Solutions in Santa Ana, Calif.

AAMI University reports that after attending this webinar, attendees will be able to identify the various applications for RTLS; analyze the potential role of RTLS applications throughout the hospital; evaluate the potential return on investment of a comprehensive RTLS solution; and discuss the role of HTMs in the acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of a RTLS.
