To help manage the cost of acquiring new endoscopes, MedAssets and Life Systems Inc have collaborated on a capital investment recovery program known as the programmatic disposition mechanism (PDM).

Through this new agreement, MedAssets’ more than 125 health systems, 2,500 hospitals, and 30,000 non-acute health care providers can leverage buying power for endoscopy equipment. The program offers cost advantages and an easy way for MedAssets’ members to recover a minimum of 20% of all capital dollars spent on new endoscopes.

Life Systems’ PDM provides a way for hospitals to save money and protect themselves against price fluctuations in the endoscopy market through the PDM’s long-term fixed pricing. It also reduces employee efforts by eliminating equipment evaluations and shipping efforts.
