Estes Park Medical Center (EPMC), a 25-bed critical-access, acute-care hospital in Estes Park, Colo, has partnered with Summit Healthcare to integrate its Meditech 6.0 health care information system (HCIS) with the MedHost emergency department information system (EDIS). EPMC plans to adopt the latter system on March 4, 2014.
Summit will use its interoperability platform and EDIS Integration Solution to allow information to flow in real time between the two systems, providing critical updates within 1 minute of input and ensuring a complete electronic medical record. The first priority will be integrating laboratory results, radiology reports, and in/outbound ADT feeds.
