 X-ray Multimeter
RTI (Mölndal, Sweden) introduces the Piranha—a new x-ray multimeter. The Piranha measures all the important parameters for radio frequency, mammography, dental, and computed tomography. The Piranha ensures accurate results in a simple, fast, and smart way. Communication is made very easy by built-in Bluetooth and USB. With its long-life battery, you can count on it to last—even during the busiest day. It is small and light enough to slip into your shirt pocket. 46 31 746 3600; sales@rti.se.

 ODISsey Tissue Oximeter
ViOptix Inc (Fremont, Calif) presents the ODISsey™ tissue oximeter, a monitoring device that provides both noninvasive and real-time tissue-oxygenation data. This device can help surgeons make better decisions about tissue viability during and after flap procedures. Lightweight and portable, this A/C power-operated console has a lithium ion battery backup and two fiber optic sensors. The color LCD display monitor has touch-screen functionality. Additionally, the ODISsey tissue oximeter has both audible and visual alarms to monitor adjustable StO2 limits and low battery indication. The ODISsey tissue oximeter can be used with the corresponding spot-check sensor, designed for noninvasive real-time spot measurement of StO2 intraoperatively. Enhancements are also available to allow continuous monitoring for use inside a hyperbaric chamber during treatment. (510) 226-5860; www.vioptix.com.

 NIBP Simulators
BC Group (St Louis) introduces a new line of handheld NIBP simulators: the NIBP–1010, the NIBP–1020, the NIBP–1010KIT, and the NIBP–1020KIT. The BC Biomedical NIBP–1000 series of high-quality, low-cost, high-function microprocessor-based NIBP simulators was designed to meet the demand for a small, easy-to-use unit with multiple features. The NIBP pressure waveforms have a natural shape, and the optional ECG waveforms are full QRS. The graphic display not only allows the user to see what is going on digitally, but it also allows the user to view a plot of the overall pressure or a close-up of the BP waveform. Highlighted features include: a small self-contained package; a 0- to 500-mmHg manometer; +/- 1% of reading-pressure accuracy; a large graphics display with cursor; and multiple display screens and digit sizes. BC Group International manufactures, distributes, and services test equipment and tools for the worldwide biomedical engineering community. (314) 638-3800; www.bcgroupintl.com.

 New Ultrasound Training
Conquest Imaging (Stockton, Calif) introduces training for the Antares, Vivid 7, and Voluson 730 ultrasound platforms. Expanding its educational offerings in response to customer needs, Conquest Imaging provides a hands-on training environment designed by service engineers for engineers. Applying the same “quality conscious” model it uses to provide cost-efficient replacement parts, probes, peripherals, and previously owned systems, Conquest provides classes without the “fluff.” Novice students leave with the confidence to resolve problems on technologically advanced ultrasound equipment, can earn 0.5 ICC Certification Renewal points per day, and qualify for free technical support.
