The Clinical Engineering Association of Illinois (CEAI) has announced details about its upcoming annual meeting on its website. Themed “Healthcare Technology at the Crossroads,” the two-day conference will be held August 19–20, 2015 at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

The schedule features a number of speakers familiar to biomeds. On Wednesday, George Mills of The Joint Commission will provide an update on the group’s activities and engage in a question and answer session. Mary Logan, president and CEO of AAMI, and Steve Campbell, AAMI’s chief operating officer, will present the keynote address on Thursday and lead a roundtable discussion. Additional speakers include Pat Lynch, who will overview “Contracts–The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” and Binseng Wang, who will discuss “How to Comply with the Revised Equipment Management Standards Issued by CMS and TJC.” Except when noted, CEAI membership fees provide access to all sessions. This year’s corporate sponsors include Varian Medical Systems, Phoenix Data Systems Inc, and Terrain Biomedical Inc. The CEAI website currently lists 40 registered vendors. Through next week, the association is also offering a $100 discount to first-time vendors through its website.

Three certification courses are currently available at additional fees: “Microscope Service & Maintenance” with Microscopy USA, “Maintenance and Support of Force FX-C and ForceTriad Systems” with Covidien, and “Maintenance & Support of Clinical Defibrillators” with Philips Healthcare.
