Alpha Source has completed its transition as the nationwide services and exclusive parts provider for GE Healthcare’s bone mineral densitometry (BMD) products in the United States. The installation, warranty, and post-warranty servicing of GE Healthcare’s BMD equipment aims to complement the ultrasound imaging service Alpha Source has been providing on selected GE Healthcare ultrasound products since 2014.

The Alpha Source national network of GE-trained and certified field service engineers are focused on the bone densitometry modality and are supplemented with depot repair operations.

“GE Healthcare trusted Alpha Source to service their bone densitometry equipment because Alpha Source is a BMD service provider with the unique combination of OEM quality and the value of a nationally scaled independent service organization,” says Rick Lytle, CEO at Alpha Source.

As the exclusive distributor of GE Healthcare BMD parts, Alpha Source provides OEM parts to keep bone densitometry equipment running at factory levels.

“Our just-in-time capability results in next-day service on most parts shipments, even hard-to-find parts,” adds Lytle. This enables Alpha Source to provide faster response to maximize bone densitometry equipment uptime.”

Alpha Source will continue its growth as an innovative, quality-focused service provider to healthcare organizations by offering solutions that maximize medical equipment productivity, reduce equipment cost of ownership, mitigate risks, and support improved patient care.

“GE worked very closely with Alpha Source over the past six months to ensure a seamless transition of services to our BMD customers,” says Rob Reilly, vice president & general manager of US and Canada service at GE Healthcare. “Alpha Source is equipped with the training, documentation, tools, and parts to deliver great service. GE Healthcare will continue to design and manufacture BMD equipment and will maintain service in geographies outside the United States.”
