AAMI has cancelled its 2020 AAMI Exchange, which was slated to take place from June 12-15 in New Orleans, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement, AAMI Vice President of Education Sherrie Schulte and Senior Vice President of Education Robert Burroughs stated: “As with any AAMI event, the safety, health, and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, and staff is paramount. It was clear that we would not be able to make that assurance if we proceeded with the 2020 event.”

“We share the disappointment that this news brings, but we remain committed to supporting you and the health technology community as always,” Schulte and Burroughs added. “We hope that you will stay engaged and connect to AAMI throughout the year as we look forward to our next opportunity together at AAMI Exchange 2021 in Charlotte, N.C.”

Exhibitors’ 2020 booth and sponsorship fees will be automatically refunded within the next 60 days. For those who reserved a hotel with AAMI’s housing provider, your reservation will also be automatically cancelled and refunded with no penalty, Schulte and Burroughs said. More information is available at www.aami.org/exchange.

“As we look forward to 2021, we will be in touch about booth selection in the next few weeks—but please feel free to reach out to us if you have any concerns or questions in the meantime,” Schulte and Burroughs added. “We hope that you and your friends and family remain safe throughout this crisis and we thank you for your support of AAMI and your dedication to patient safety, especially now.”
